Lemons to Lemonade

I took the plunge into photography and purchased at Canon Rebel T3. Still love my little iPhone and I'm positive I will be using it a lot still as it's always by my side. But I love the details of DSLR camera and thought the time was right. I decided to  play with lemons today and get to know my new toy better. I love lemons, their color, smell, taste and thought it would be a good subject for a shoot. I hope you agree.

Bending to the Light

Did you know that tulips keep growing after they are cut?  It's true and these pretties are reaching for more light from the windows. For me, I love the luxury of a bunch of tulips on my table. I never tired of fresh flowers.

Breathe and Come to Life

My day job is teaching rubber stamping and coloring with Copic markers to make greeting cards and art journal pages. For me there is something so relaxing about coloring and watching a flat image on paper begin to breathe and come to life. I love when my students finish and say they are so proud of their work they refuse to give the card away. That means a lot.

Rocky Top

When I saw this picture I thought of the song "Rocky Top". The picture was taken on top of Mt. Scott in southern Oklahoma. If you don't live in Oklahoma you might be surprised to realize how much diversity there is in this quiet state. We have desserts, small mountains, flat prairies and green forests. You name we have it's, well, except for ocean side beaches. That we don't have.

Get Your Story Straight

"So Maddie, what did you do at school today?" and this is the face I get. She is so expressive and I just giggle with her adult faces. I see a lot of Jennifer in Maddie, her expressions, her voice, that way she is so interested in people.

Last of the Pear Blossoms

I'm glad I took this picture of the pear blossoms before the hail storm the other night. Now all the blossoms are in tatters on the ground. It's a reminder that life is temporary and each day is to be savored and we should be thankful. I know I am.
